Teaching and knowledge sharing

TRAINING

Since its foundation in 1997, Planho has built a solid track record in the transfer of knowledge in the field of hospital architecture. For Planho, designing a hospital goes beyond technical execution; it also involves an educational commitment that dates back to the studio’s earliest years, when it understood that the complexity of a hospital building required specialised training that was not available in conventional academic curricula.

Throughout its career, Planho has taught in postgraduate programmes and various master’s degrees in Hospital Architecture at Spanish universities, delivering key modules on strategic planning and the management of healthcare infrastructure. Planho has channelled its real-world experience in the construction of each hospital into the training of new generations of architects, helping them understand the specific technical requirements demanded by modern hospital architecture.

Planho’s educational work has crossed borders, bringing its teaching expertise in hospital architecture to diploma programmes and specialised courses for professionals in Latin America. These programmes are aimed at the different technical profiles involved in the design and management of hospital infrastructure, including architects, engineers, doctors, clinical managers and administrative managers.

In addition, the Planho team is a regular participant in national and international conferences on hospital architecture, having taken part in specialised seminars, both in person and online, in around twenty countries.
