The new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and pediatric techniques area consists of the partial refurbishment of the first floor of the Maternal and Children Hospital of the Reina Sofía Hospital in Córdoba. It is organized into three areas: the ICU with 12 boxes, control area and technical rooms, an area for family members, and an area for doctors with offices and bedrooms.

It has differentiated clinical and outpatient circulations and accesses. All boxes have natural lighting, as well as, direct view from the nursery control being two of them configured with a lock for patients with isolation needs.

Our greatest effort has been to adequately combine the requirements in the quality of care, with a reasonable level of comfort, mitigating the negative effects of the environment and reducing the stress of the user and staff. The lighting, acoustic attenuation and the quality and warmth of the coverings are essential elements in the design.
